    Please note that the Union does not assist in getting into employment, but provides assistance to those who experience problems with their existing employment (dismissal, pay issues, holiday, discrimination).

    Available benefits:

    Working Tax Credit – for workers – form is obtained upon a call to the Tax Credit office within the HMRC. The phone call can be made from any HMRC office- it is then free of charge. Telephone number is 08453003900

    Child Tax Credit – for parents – general Tax Credit form is to be used to claim both WTC and CTC

    Child Benefit – for parents or those responsible for a child – form can accessed via Important Links section

    Housing Benefit – to help with rent – online via Important Links

    The Northern Ireland Housing Executive has a duty of providing interpreters when needed and assisting in filling in the HB forms. We can issue a referral before you turn to them for assistance or if you were not successful to obtain it.

    ESA – Employment and support Allowance (for those unable to work) – Jobs and Benefits upon registration

    Maternity Allowance – maternity benefit paid by Social Security Agency – via Important Links section

    Income support – for those on very low income

    JSA – for the jobseekers – form to be obtained in the Jobs and Benefits office upon registration
